River Rescue Certification with Zach Byars

Happy Easter and what nice weather we had over the weekend for our swiftwater rescue courses in Coloma, California. Sierra Rescue just went over the 2,200 mark for students who have gone through our River Rescue Certification [RRC] program.

This weekend 10 more RRC students joined in for some training on the South Fork of the American River in Coloma. The water was at a great level and provided us with some fun flow for training. Our second day we ventured upstream to train at Trouble Maker for some advanced techniques and finished off the day with a big scenario. Great job!

For some of you folks out there needing to re-certify your RRC, look for one of our RRC-Advanced classes to step up your game. Building off the foundation developed in the RRC, the advanced course will take your rescue skills to a new level. The RRC-advanced incorporates advanced techniques for access in water and from shore, while focusing on tougher scenarios involving difficult access in higher class whitewater.
