We endured a blizzard this weekend in Flagstaff, but thanks to the good humor and enthusiasm of the Canyon Explorations guides; we spent plenty of time outside in our WFR Recertification Training and had fun doing it! It is an incredible gift that Canyon Explorations owners; Cam and Laurie Staveley, and Garrett Schniewind, support their guides by paying for this Wilderness First Responder Recertification course to be offered by Sierra Rescue every year! This is the kind of wilderness medical training that all guides working in a wilderness setting should be getting! Sierra Rescue is very proud to offer these WFR and WFR Recert courses to great outdoor guides like the CanEx team. Check out the photos below and thanks to our amazing students for such a great class!

This annual recert class is big investment for Canyon Explorations. I think I get to benefit the most, as I get to see old friends and spend time with folks that are passionate and enthusiastic about what they do. The WFR Recert is a great opportunity for everyone to become familiar with the trauma and rescue kits, evacuation protocols in the National Park and work together in scenarios that are based in common Grand Canyon side canyons and rapids.
Check out Canyon Explorations for your next Grand Canyon Adventure and think about doing your next Wilderness First Responder Course with Sierra Rescue! Come join in on the fun!
